The 1st Newton Scout Group Summer Camp took place over the weekend of 17–19 July 2026 at Boarfold Scout Campsite. The camp provided Scouts with an opportunity to develop practical outdoor skills, build confidence, and strengthen teamwork while enjoying a range of traditional scouting activities.
Throughout the weekend, Scouts and Explorers participated in onsite activities and wide games, encouraging cooperation, communication, and problem-solving. A key focus of the camp was learning and practising outdoor skills, including food preparation and meal cooking, giving young people hands-on experience in self-sufficiency and outdoor living.
The camp also offered the chance for everyone to experience sleeping outdoors in tents and hammocks, helping Scouts develop resilience, independence, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. The event was a great opportunity for young people to make new memories, challenge themselves, and enjoy the outdoors with fellow members of the group.
Overall, the Summer Camp was a successful weekend that combined adventure, skills development, friendship, and fun, whilst reinforcing the core values and spirit of scouting.
